FUNCTIONS SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of the Regional Palliative Care Community Services, this position entails working as a palliative care nurse consultant. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor's degree in a health care discipline, preferably in nursing science or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Palliative Care.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in palliative care pain and symptom management.
  • Requires a driving licence and use of a car.
  • Proven teaching abilities.
  • Willingness to be flexible with work hours in order to meet the demands of the position.
  • Proven leadership abilities, excellent academic and professional activities.
  • Proficiency in using computer software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Oncology Nursing or Hospice Palliative Care.
  • Current cardio pulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Fluent in French and English.  
  • Innovative and analytic in problem-solving.        
  • Capable of working under stress in a constantly changing environment.
  • Master's degree in health care or education.
