ADAPT

Official Project Title:

Adapting pharmacists’ skills and Approaches to Maximize Patient’s Drug Therapy Effectiveness (ADAPT)

Project Description and Objectives:

Description:

The ADAPT (ADapting pharmacists’ skills and Approaches to maximize Patient’s drug Therapy effectiveness) program is a unique opportunity for pharmacists to practice at the top of their scope by improving their skills and using their full knowledge. This program will enable pharmacists to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care professionals as well as provide patient-centred care to produce optimal drug outcomes.

The ADAPT program consists of two levels. The first level is an e-learning component consisting of 7 online modules. The second level is a face-to face session where pharmacists are evaluated on the skills and knowledge they have obtained through the e-learning component.

Objectives:

1. Evaluate pharmacists’ participation, satisfaction and learning during the ADAPT program by analyzing data collected from various assignments, focus groups, discussion boards, surveys, knowledge of skills tests, global rating scales and more.

2. Assess practice change that has occurred after participating in the ADAPT program. Details to the methods of data collection and analysis will be determined in depth in the subsequent proposal.
