Function Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager, Networking, the Senior Network Analyst is responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance and improvement of the Bruyère Continuing Care server farm.

This incumbent is responsible for the technical support, planning, coordination and administration, of all Bruyère Continuing Care physical and virtual servers including associated storage and backup systems. The incumbent provides support in performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning and prediction in the coordination and implementation of releases, of changes to the operating systems, to the storage and backup hardware/software and the range of products that support the development, testing and production environments.

The Senior Network Analyst is also responsible for systems maintenance, the planning and implementation of major software upgrades, and ensures that change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed. He/She works closely with other network team staff and Information Systems groups to ensure the highest level of security, availability and best performance of systems. Under the general guidance of the Manager, Networking, the Senior Network Analyst plans, designs and develops directory solutions to meet network requirements and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • A three (3) year community college diploma in computer science or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with team members
  • A minimum of five (5) years experiences in a relevant field, including:
  1. Extensive experience with network operating systems ( Microsoft, Linux, VMware)
  2. Experience administering SANs, server storage and backup equipment.
  3. Experience installing and supporting physical and virtual servers in a networked environment.
  4. Extensive experience designing, implementing and managing Microsoft Active Directory and other LDAP based directory services.
  5. Extensive experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems 

Preferred Qualification

  • Ability to communicate in both official languages, spoken and written
  • VMware Certified Professional
  • EMC Storage Administrator 
  • Experience working with EMC SANs and EMC backup hardware and software
  • Experience administering Microsoft Exchange
  • Network Security Experience
