A Great Day at Bruyère Life Changing Radiothon!

27/5/2016

Thanks to the dedicated 580 CFRA listeners, CTV Ottawa viewers, and our generous community - in one day - the Bruyère Life Changing Radiothon raised $165,492 in support of patient care and research.

Present and former Bruyère patients and their families shared personal stories about the care received while at Bruyère Continuing Care. Physicians, staff, and Bruyère Research Institute investigators shared expert advice on: Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, falls prevention, the importance of health care data, care of the elderly, and life at the new Bruyère Village.

“Today marked the beginning of new journey for the Foundation,” stated Bruyère Foundation president, Peggy Taillon. “We are excited to focus on supporting the incredible life changing care and research offered at Bruyère and Bruyère Research Institute, specifically around brain health, integrated seniors’ health and complex, chronic conditions and rehabilitation.

On behalf of the future patients Bruyère will care for – thank you to everyone who made a donation and for supporting our mission of providing life changing care and research. We also want to thank our friends and partners at Bell Media especially the CFRA and CTV teams.”

Support for Life Changing Radiothon began live on 580 CFRA at 6 a.m. and continued throughout the day with politicians and Bell Media personalities taking donations at the Morguard VIP Pledge Bank. The Radiothon wrapped up with a live report from St. Laurent on the evening newscast on CTV Ottawa Evening News.
