The First Day of the Giving Season.
After the retail sales of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesdayCa is your opportunity to celebrate and encourage activities supporting charities and non-profit organizations.
On this unique philanthropic day, a woman named Josie shares how Bruyère changed her mother Georgette’s life for the better. Georgette was diagnosed with dementia when she was just 60 years old. Too soon, Georgette’s health declined and Josie admitted her to Bruyère’s Palliative Care Unit. Josie was grateful that Bruyère was able to provide her with the compassionate care her mother needed.
Josie asked us to share her message with you on this #GivingTuesday:
“Many of us think all the services we receive in hospitals are fully funded by the province, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Bruyère relies on generous individuals like you to help build beyond the bare essentials. Will you make a monthly gift to Bruyère today to ensure families like ours receive support and compassion for years to come?”
By donating today, you are helping ensure that Bruyère will be here to provide the best possible care we all deserve today and tomorrow.
Individuals who are referred to Bruyère have suffered a loss of independence and function, usually as a result of a significant medical event or illness. We work to restore as much independence as possible, through rehabilitation and restorative care services. When this is not possible, we work to accommodate the loss of independence through long-term care and long-term complex and chronic care. We strive to maintain health and wellness in the community through ambulatory care, primary care, and specialized accommodation
services, and we offer world-renowned palliative care that supports the dignity and quality of life of our patients who are near the end of their journey.
The pandemic has been a pivotal time for Bruyère. We continue to face challenges as a result of underlying issues in our healthcare system; challenges that have been amplified by the pandemic. But with challenges also come opportunities. Now is the time for us to rise to the occasion and innovate to provide tangible solutions that will transform healthcare in our region.
Join us on Giving Tuesday and help us help those who need Bruyère today and in the future.
