#WhyWeAreMoved Assurance Home Care
Bruyère Month has officially ended, and what a month it was! We’re so pleased to have been able to share all that Bruyère is with our community, from the research being done and the care being provided, to the shortfalls of the current healthcare system and how we are facing them. As has been true for every healthcare organization, the pandemic has challenged Bruyère, but with the determination and support of our staff, volunteers, and the community, we have been able to adapt and continue to provide the quality care that our patients need.
Bruyère Month wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors. That’s why, to end this incredible and inspiring month, we’ve asked our sponsors to tell their #WhyWeAreMoved stories.
Assurance Home Care’s Co-owner, Kristine McGinn, shared some of her thoughts regarding their choice to become Bruyere’s official #BeInnovative Sponsor and what the relationship means to them.
What motivated us to sponsor Bruyère’s inaugural Bruyère Month was the dedication that we see in the Bruyère team, and their commitment to helping people manage chronic illnesses and regain their independence following serious injury or illness. This is something that we too strive to achieve with our clients at Assurance Home Care, in the community, every day. To put it simply, our two organizations’ missions and values are very well aligned, particularly when it comes to innovation.
An absolute pillar in the community, Bruyère has been serving Ottawa and the region in various capacities, meeting the challenges of our fast-changing times. They continue to grow in their service delivery, research, and innovation, with the support of the community. Bruyère has a local focus with a global perspective and is trusted as a centre of excellence. We are so proud to partner alongside.
Assurance has had many clients that have received exemplary care over the years at Bruyère. It is hard to highlight any one story... they are all so powerful. Our #BeMoved story is about the consistency and the commitment of the multi-disciplinary teams, and their willingness to collaborate with Assurance to ensure a smooth transition, whether from home to Bruyère, or better, from Bruyère and back into their homes. It’s not uncommon to hear around our offices and with our nurse managers, “Wow, Bruyère did it again!”
Assurance is always looking for ideas and opportunities to be better for our clients. Bruyère Month provides an occasion for us and the community to learn more, and along with learning comes inspiration, ideas, and opportunities, whether straightforward and simple or innovative and complex... but always challenging the status quo.
Our health care system is long overdue for the next level of innovation, in order to better serve our communities. For Assurance, in the future we hope to see even more collaboration, cooperation, and alignment with Bruyère, because as we all know... it truly takes a village.
