As part of Bruyère Continuing Care you will be contributing to fulfilling our Mission which is committed to improving the quality of life of our patients and residents by living our values of respect, compassion, collaboration, accountability and learning. Function SummaryReporting to the Manager, Health Records and Telecommunications, the incumbent is responsible for greeting patients and families and assisting them with their requests. He/She is responsible for assembling patient charts, responding to correspondence requests and managing incoming transcribed reports. As a result, he/she must have a strong working knowledge of Bruyère Continuing Care's policies and procedures in order to recognize documentation that is permissible in the patient chart and familiar with release of information policies and procedures. The incumbent answers incoming calls and e-mails directed to the department. He/She receives requests from all levels of Bruyère Continuing Care's employees and must be available to assist everyone including physicians, residents and medical students.The clerk works closely with all members of the Health Records team and must learn a wide variety of their tasks to be able to assist and replace staff as necessary.

- Two (2) years community college diploma or equivalent combination of experience, training and education
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a Health Records or healthcare facility environment
- Fluent in French and English, spoken and written
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
