Function Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources and Infection Prevention and Control, this position leads the team that supports Bruyère leaders for all issues relating to recruiting and acts as a recruiting consultant to ensure that we successfully attract, hire, and retain a high performing workforce.

The individual is responsible and accountable for team well-being and cohesiveness and for coaching and developing their staff, including a Senior Officer as a leader that other recruiting team members report to. They develop, implement, and evaluate recruiting activities to meet operational needs and workforce forecasts. They are focused on continuous improvement of service delivery for hiring leaders, internal and external job seekers, and other stakeholders. This role requires involvement and collaboration in various projects related directly or indirectly to recruitment and selection activities and is accountable for HR KPI related to recruitment.

The individual will help lead the team through a transformation of processes, technology, and user experience to help achieve corporate goals including engagement, vacancy rates, and staff well-being, and to enhance the client and team experience and team effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in a Human Resources related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. (CHRL designation preferred).
  • Five (5) years of Human Resources experience and especially in Recruitment and Selection.
  • Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and HR data analytics.
  • Experience developing and implementing Workforce planning strategies and plans.
  • Bilingualism required – oral and written communication skills in French and English. (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computer applications and software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and experience of HR data analytics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of recruitment and selection principles, practices and procedures in a fast-paced health care environment.
  • Sound knowledge of human resources management and administration as it interfaces with operational requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal and provincial employment related legislation, including the areas of employment standards, human rights, immigration and Pay Equity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of collective agreements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the role of occupational selection testing.
  • Social media candidate sourcing experience preferred.
  • Experience in health care preferred.

  • Skilled in developing and implementing regular and long term continuous improvement to ensure excellent service for clients, experience for job seekers, applicants, candidates and new employees, and team members.
  • Skilled in partnering with external agencies to ensure we are developing, recruiting and retaining high performing teams.
  • Excellent social media awareness and skills that enhance the Bruyère brand.
  • Ability to identify clients’ needs in all aspects of recruitment and selection and find solutions to support the client groups.
