Function summary

Reporting to the Manager, Health Records and Telecommunications, the incumbent is accountable for all telecommunications-related activities including interaction with patients/residents, physicians, staff and public, immediate response to emergency codes as well as a myriad of responsibilities related to the department.

Required qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma 
  • Experience with switchboard consoles, paging environment and multi-line telephones 
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with people coupled with the ability to offer a professional, tactful and courteous client-centered service
  • Ability to act quickly and professionally during an emergency  
  • Intermediate computer skills including Excel, Meditech, Outlook 
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
