Medical Radiation Technologist

Function Summary

Under the supervision and guidance of the Chief Technologist, this role provides general radiography services (including but not limited to providing x-ray examinations and patient care).

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma from a recognized Medical Radiation Technology program
  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO)
  • Registered with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support (B LS) Level C certificate
  • Intermediate computer skills 
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
  • Experience in general radiography with infants to frail elderly (preferred)
  • Working experience in ultrasound technology (preferred)

Key Competencies

  • Able to work independently with Electronic Medical Records, radiation equipment, radiology information systems and picture archiving communications systems
  • Familiarity with the provisions of the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent listening skills coupled with the ability to offer tactful, courteous client-centered service
  • Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and to pay attention to details
