Function SummaryReporting to the Manager, Community Programs, the Bus Driver is accountable to pick up community program participants within the Orleans area on a daily basis and in addition may participate in shopping outings for Bruyère Village tenants. A designated vehicle is provided.
The incumbent may be called upon for weekend and evening outings from time to time.
He/She is committed to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère. He/She is committed to tenants safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications- Completion of grade 10 secondary school
- Must be able to communicate in French and English
- Minimum three (3) years of experience driving a vehicle with multiple passengers
- Valid Ontario driver's license - class F or a class 4b (Québec), or equivalent
Key competencies - Working experience with seniors/ elderly clientele with loss of autonomy
- Knowledge of the regulations of the Ministry of Transport
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
- Ability to perform activities which may require climbing, pulling, transport, bending, pushing, kneel and squat
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Initiative, creativity and ability to work independently and as a team player
