Function SummaryThe Registered Nurse in the Rehabilitation - Outpatient Services is accountable for the clinical coordination of the consultations and follow-up information, education and liaison services of the ambulatory care services.
The Registered Nurse also coordinates referrals to the community and other programs such as the Geriatric Day Hospital.
He/She is committed to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère Continuing Care. He/She is committed to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement. Required Qualifications- Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- 5 years experience in the field of Rehabilitation
- Advanced computer skills
- Advanced medical terminology
- Valid Basic Life Support ( BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
Preferred Qualifications- Fluent in French and English
- Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing and/or a Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of professional resources available in Ottawa area for patients with stroke
- Advanced knowledge in Adult Education
- Knowledge in TQM principles and their applications
- Experience in rehabilitation
- Superior communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
- Leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to change
- Motivation towards personal and professional growth
- Membership in Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)
