Function SummaryReporting to the Director, Human Resources Services, the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the compensation and benefits programs as well as payroll services and the Human Resources Information System.
The Manager is responsible and accountable for managing all related activities for the various union and non-union employee groups including classification of positions, administration of salary plans, benefits, leaves, group insurance plans, pension plans, employee and related file management and generation and analyses of related data and reports.
Under the guidance and direction of the Director and in collaboration with the Payroll Coordinator, the incumbent leads and manages the development, implementation and upgrading of the Human Resources Information System (payroll, human resources management) to meet the needs of the organization. The Manager works in close collaboration with the Department of Finance to ensure interoperability and compatibility with financial, enterprise-wide and provincial systems and compliance with financial reporting obligations. He/She provides advice to the Director on any related issues. He/She is committed to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère Continuing Care.
He/She is committed to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or as Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation from the Canadian Payroll Association (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation is an asset
- Five (5) years of relevant experience with responsibility for compensation, benefits and payroll.
- Experience working with a Human Resources Information System
- Experience working in a unionized environment and comprehensive understanding of collective agreements
- * Bilingualism required – oral and written communication skills in English and French
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of human resources, documentation, compensation, benefits administration and payroll principles, practices, procedures and applicable legislation
- Sound knowledge of human resources management and administration
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computer applications and software i.e.: Crystal, MS Suite, QHR
- Experience in the Ontario Health Care sector strongly preferred
