Function summary

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for the management and creation of a wide variety of communication campaigns and supporting materials. The incumbent will: manage processes and projects related to Bruyère Continuing Care’s communication efforts; create compelling written content for internal and external use; and assess requirements, develop plans, and provide writing and editing support for various departments at Bruyère Continuing Care. He/She must have a keen eye for detail but also appreciate the big picture. He/She will lead and execute on content strategy and creation for Bruyère Continuing Care’s internal communication platform and support media relations and the production of external communications materials. The Communications Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Bruyère Research Institute and Foundation as well as internal departments at Bruyère Continuing Care to ensure all communication respects the corporate brand messaging and is clear, relevant and consistent.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in communications, public relations, journalism or in a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in communication or public affairs in an organization, preferably in a hospital or in health care.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (an asset)
  • Experience with media relations (an asset)
  • Fluent in both French and English - writing, verbal and comprehension
  • Strong computer skills
