Job Location: At the participants’ home, mostly West and Central Ottawa, with occasional meetings held at Bruyère Research Institute, Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital.

The Bruyère Research Institute (BRI) in conjunction with the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) is seeking a Central & West Ottawa Regional Home Interviewer to join the CLSA Ottawa team. The CLSA is a Canada-wide study that looks at health and aging over a 20-year period https://www.clsa-elcv.ca/. This is an opportunity for an individual interested in research on aging to work independently in the community to liaise with CLSA participants and perform home interviews.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Working directly with the CLSA Coordinator, the incumbent will be expected to do the following tasks:
  • Function as a member of the Ottawa CLSA Team
  • Interview CLSA participants in the participant’s home environment

This job description is not exhaustive. Additional duties may be added as appropriate

The successful candidate must have:

  • 5 years of experience working with the public 
  • Access to a car and a willingness to travel within the Ottawa region, mostly in the West End
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills

Additional assets:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of degrees/experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology 
  • Ability to work as a member of a team 
  • Research experience
  • Bilingual (French/English) in both written and spoken
