Function summaryReporting to the Director Clinical programs Saint-Vincent Hospital, the Clinical Manager is: - Accountable for the overall planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating all activities of the designated service in order to provide high quality patient care on all three (3) shifts including weekend.
- Accountable for the administrative and clinical management of a patient care service in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the philosophy, mission and strategic direction of Bruyère Continuing Care, the standards from the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation, the Regulated Health Professionals Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the relevant collective agreements.
- Accountable for ensuring efficient patient flow
- Accountable to manage clinical issues, practices and home first philosophy
- Clinical On call during (off hours) as per clinical roster
He/She is committed to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère Continuing Care. He/She is committed to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement. Required qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum 2-3 years in a leadership position
- Minimum 2-3 years Medical Surgical Nursing experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Health Care management position
- Fluent in English and French
- Working knowledge of the health care system
- Advanced computer skills and medical terminology
Preferred qualifications - Master's degree, in Nursing, Health, Public, Education or Business administration
- Membership in Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)
- Knowledge in lean methodology an asset
Position key competencies - Strong management skills and leadership abilities
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Superior communication skills (both oral and written)
- Extensive knowledge in the field of designated program
- Knowledge in QI principles and their applications
- Ability to effectively manage change.
