Function Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll, the incumbent acts as the primary Human Resources point of contact for all Bruyère Continuing Care employees and for employees for whom Bruyère Continuing Care is paymaster from the time of hire to termination/retirement. The incumbent is involved with the administration of all aspects of documentation, compensation and benefits, including the entry and maintenance of the related data in the HRIS/Payroll software application (QHR). The incumbent provides employees with relevant information on working conditions, benefit entitlement, leave of absences and subsequently collects information to document employee files; provides employees and third parties all required information (group insurance, pension, E.I.) to ensure employees’ enrolment, continued participation and termination of benefits in accordance with the organization's policies, collective agreements and related employment legislation.

Required Qualifications 

  • 3 years community college diploma in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of experience, education, training. 
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field is preferred 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Human Resource/Payroll/Benefit Administration department 
  • Experience in dealing with the public, employees and managers 
  • Knowledge and understanding of documentation, compensation and benefits principles, practices and procedures, collective agreements, applicable employment and related legislation 
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of Quadrant HR, HOOPP, Insight, and Employment Insurance WEB-ROE, preferred 
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) 
  • Working towards Certified Human Resources Professional CHRP and/or Canadian Payroll Association Certification CPM/PCP, preferred 
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written)  (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
