Join our host, Steve Madely, at the Ottawa Deprescribing Fair—a free public event designed to empower seniors with knowledge about safe medication management and deprescribing.
Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Presentation begins at 10 a.m. Gilberte Paquette Garden (6th floor) Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital 43 Bruyère St., Ottawa
Deprescribing is a way for health care providers to help patients safely cut back on medications. As life changes, medication needs may also change. Medications that were once good may no longer be the best choice.
Did you know?
- Two out of three Canadians over age 65 take at least 5 different medications.
- One out of four Canadians over age 65 takes at least 10 different medications.
The fair exhibitors will cover topics such as:
- Deprescribing
- Risks associated with the use of many medications
- Medication safety
- Non-drug approaches to symptom management
- And more!
Retired host of 580 CFRA’s “Madely in the Morning” show, Steve Madely has been a longstanding supporter of numerous community organizations including Bruyère Foundation, The Ottawa Hospital Campaign for Health Research and Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation.
