Santa 4 Seniors
The “Santa 4 Seniors” campaign is a partnership between Bruyère, the Good Companions Seniors’ Centre and Tea & Toast to “bring a smile to a senior this holiday season”.
Holidays are a time of joy and celebration for many, but there are others in our community who feel alone without family or friends nearby to celebrate or share a meal. The healthcare programs and services offered by Bruyère serve older adults, many who are alone, isolated and often forgotten at this time of year. This initiative reaches out to those older adults and builds on Bruyère’s commitment to developing partnerships to address unmet needs in the community.
Bruyère invites the community to join the “Santa for Seniors” campaign by dropping off unwrapped gifts at any of Bruyère’s three sites or Good Companions Centre. Gifts such as toiletries, winter clothing, games, chocolates, coffee or tea will go a long way to brighten the holidays for seniors in our community.
This year’s goal is to provide gifts to over 400 seniors in the Ottawa area.
The deadline to drop off gifts is 5 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019.
