Function Summary

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the drug distribution activities of the Saint-Vincent Hospital and Élisabeth-Bruyère Hospital under the supervision of the Drug Distribution Coordinator and the Director, Pharmacy and Laboratory Services. Activities include computer order entry, dispensing, narcotic/wardstock management, sterile drug preparation, compounding, procurement, receiving and other related tasks in the pharmacy and on the patient care units.

Required Qualifications

  • Community College Pharmacy Technician Diploma
  • Registered or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacist
  • Minimum of 6 months Technician work in a hospital setting or in a similar environment
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Qualification

  • Ability to communicate in both official languages, spoken and written
