About:

Jennifer O’Neil, PhD, is a physiotherapist and assistant professor at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Ottawa. As a physiotherapist, her main interests are to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation care for people living with neurological conditions and facilitate access to community-based rehabilitation.


Her research has focused on the use of technology and the implementation of intensive home-based telerehabilitation programs for people living with moderate or severe traumatic brain injuries. She has done work in capacity building and telerehabilitation implementation across Canada, including implementing a telehealth fall prevention program for francophone communities living in minority situations. From a health equity perspective, using a person-centred approach, Jennifer aims to improve health equity and access to rehabilitation services for all.


Research Interests:

Global health, health equity and access to rehabilitation services, innovation, digital health, sensors, wearables, telehealth, mobility, balance, falls, neurology, clinical research and implementation.
