About:

Dr. Kevin Pottie is a family physician researcher who has led a 20-year research program in health equity and evidence-based guidelines that was recognized with the College of Family Physicians of Canada Researcher of the Year Award and the Springer Nature Inclusive Health Research Award. His systematic reviews and clinical guidelines are transforming the primary care clinical approach to refugee health care, homeless health care and deprescribing in the elderly.


During the European refugee health crisis, he worked at WHO and then led the European Migrant health guidelines (ECDC, 2018). His recent guidelines for homeless health care are providing new evidence informed pathways for prevention and care approaches. He is a convener of the Cochrane Equity Methods and GRADE Working Group and a full professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Western University, and adjunct Professor in Family Medicine at University of Ottawa, Canada.
