New unit opens at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital

Today, as part of Bruyère’s ongoing efforts to help create additional capacity in our region, we are starting to admit patients to a new unit at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital.
These 21 beds make up a unit on the second floor of Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, located at 43 Bruyère Street in the Byward Market. These new beds for patients requiring an alternate level of care will help our acute care partners in the region respond to urgent and emerging needs as we enter a new era of health care, together.
As part of our ongoing response to COVID-19, all new patients who are admitted to Bruyère must have a negative COVID test result prior to being transferred to our hospital. Once admitted, patients will be placed on droplet and contact precautions for 14 days to ensure they do not develop COVID-related symptoms. This infection protection measure is to ensure the health and safety of patients and staff alike.
