Bruyère’s Life Changing Day Raises $494,239

05/25/2018

Thanks to the dedicated 580 CFRA listeners, CTV Ottawa viewers, and our incredibly generous community, Bruyère’s Life Changing Day raised $494,239 yesterday in support of patient care and research at Bruyère.

Patients, families, and community leaders touched by Bruyère shared personal stories about the compassionate and innovative care they received while at Bruyère Continuing Care. Physicians, members of Bruyère’s care team, and clinical investigators shared inspiring stories and expert advice about: Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, falls prevention, palliative care, rehabilitation, the importance of research, care of the elderly, and life at the new Bruyère Village.

“These funds will enable us to move forward with strengthening our mission. We are deeply grateful to the community, every year they come through for Bruyère” stated Bruyère Foundation president, Peggy Taillon.

The funds raised will help us to continue focusing on supporting the incredible life changing care and research offered at Bruyère and Bruyère Research Institute, specifically around brain health, care of the elderly, and complex, chronic conditions and rehabilitation.”

“Thank you to everyone who made a donation and for supporting our mission of providing life changing care and research. We also want to thank our friends and partners at Bell Media especially the CFRA and CTV Ottawa teams.” – Daniel Fernandes, Chair of Bruyère Foundation.

Support for Bruyère’s Life Changing Day began live on CTV Ottawa and 580 CFRA at: 6 a.m. and continued throughout the day with politicians and Bell Media personalities taking donations at the VIP Pledge Bank. The day wrapped up with a live report from Saint-Vincent Hospital on the evening newscast on CTV Ottawa Evening News.
