Bruyère Granted Funding in COVID-19 Research Efforts

The Bruyère Research Institute is excited to announce several investigators and their teams were among the eleven projects selected by the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine for COVID-19 Pandemic Response Funding.
Each of these projects were granted up to $50,000 each, and represent a wide variety of approaches to tackling the spread of the coronavirus and mitigating its negative consequences. They were chosen on the basis of being highly feasible with immediately achievable and important results, and providing evidence to inform clinical and public health responses or decision-making about the pandemic.

- Dr. James Downar, for his funded project Supporting family members with severe grief reactions during the COVID-19 pandemic: a mixed methods study
- Amy Hsu, PhD, Heidi Sveistrup, PhD, and Timon LeDain for their project Predicting COVID-19 risk in long-term care workers using routinely-collected healthcare data
