Updates on Our Pandemic Response

04/06/2023

As of April 7, visitors will no longer need to have two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to visit a loved one on our sites.

We’re making this change now in line with the Ministry of Long-Term Care who are recommending lifting the requirement. We agree that it is time to do this in both our hospitals and long-term care homes.

We know removing the vaccination requirement will only impact a small number of visiting loved ones, as a very high percentage of people in Ontario have two doses. However, we want to improve the experience of those we care for by removing barriers to visitation where we can. We also know that this change is important for some of our long-stay patients who have not been able to visit with some of their loved ones for a long time.

We can manage this change knowing that our teams are fully vaccinated, and that our patients have access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

If you have any questions, we encourage you to speak to a member of your care team or call the Family Support Service at extension 4200.
