“We are delighted to welcome Guy Chartrand as president and CEO,” said John Riddle, board chair. “He is a seasoned leader who has achieved success leading several community hospitals in Ontario. He has a deep understanding of the Catholic health care system combined with knowledge and competence in strategy, leading learning-based organizations and collaborating with others to enhance patient and resident care”. John added “The board of directors would like to thank Daniel Levac, current president and CEO, for his strong leadership at Bruyère over the last 10 years. Daniel has been pivotal in ensuring organizational stability for Bruyère, building new partnerships and leading the creation of the Bruyère Village, an affordable seniors’ community in Orléans. We wish him the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Guy Chartrand has worked in senior leadership positions in Ontario health care for over 23 years. Since 2014, he was the president and CEO of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. It is an honour and a privilege to take on this new leadership role as the head of such a great academic organization, leading in the areas of seniors care, rehabilitation, complex care and palliative care. I am committed to honouring Bruyère’s rich traditions and helping the most vulnerable and medically complex in the Champlain region. I am looking forward to this new opportunity and to getting to know all of you.”

Mr. Chartrand is fluently bilingual in French and English.
