Celebrating the people who make our long-term care homes special

09/25/2026

On September 18, Bruyère Health’s long-term care homes came together to celebrate the residents, families, staff, and volunteers who make our homes vibrant, caring, and connected communities.

The celebration was part of Long-Term Care Community Engagement Day, a province-wide initiative recognizing the important role people and community connections play in enhancing quality of life in long-term care.

Residents, family members, staff, and volunteers from Élisabeth-Bruyère and Saint-Louis Long-Term Care were joined by MPP Stephen Blais, MPP Lucille Collard and Councillor Stéphanie Plante to recognize the many people who make meaningful contributions to our homes every day.

At the heart of the day were recognition awards, including Connection Builder, Community Spirit, Resident Champion, and Joy Creator, that celebrated staff, residents, and volunteers who strengthen connections, foster a sense of community, and bring joy to those around them.

Long-term care is about more than the care we provide. Our homes are places where people live, build relationships, participate in their communities, and create meaningful moments together. The contributions of residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners all help create that sense of belonging.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Long-Term Care Community Engagement Day and helped make the celebration so special.

Together, we help build meaningful connections and welcoming communities that define long-term care at Bruyère Health.
