From local impact to national change: the reach of Bruyère Health Innovation

Ottawa Innovation Week is more than a celebration of innovation; it’s an opportunity to showcase how Bruyère Health is helping shape the future of care.
At Bruyère Health, innovation begins with a simple idea: bringing health care providers, researchers, industry partners, and innovators together to solve real-world challenges. The result is practical, scalable solutions that improve care delivery, enhance patient experiences, and strengthen health systems.
In 2025–26 alone, Bruyère Health launched or completed 10 innovation initiatives that directly benefited more than 600 patients and residents within our organization, while supporting thousands more across Ontario and Canada.
The impact extends beyond numbers. From improving patient flow to advancing wound care, innovation at Bruyère Health focuses on finding new ways to address challenges and improve outcomes. It's not simply about adopting new technologies; it's about creating meaningful solutions that strengthen people, processes, and care.
As Canada advances its vision for artificial intelligence and digital health, Bruyère Health is contributing to the safe and responsible adoption of innovative technologies that improve care delivery and system performance. Through a growing focus on digital innovation, we are helping ensure health care organizations are prepared for the future.
Our impact also extends far beyond our walls. Through national partnerships and programs, Bruyère Health is helping pilot, evaluate, and scale Canadian innovations across Eastern Ontario, throughout the province, and across the country.
Over the past year, Bruyère Health Innovation has supported work with dozens of hospitals and more than 700 long-term care homes, contributing to stronger, more connected health systems for Canadians.
Looking ahead, this work will continue through expanded support for hospitals and long-term care homes, as well as increased regional collaboration to position Eastern Ontario as a leading destination for health innovation and technology development.
As we look to the future, our focus remains clear: expanding our impact, strengthening our innovation pipeline, and building capacity in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence to help create a more connected, responsive, and sustainable health care system.
