As 2022 comes to an end, I want to thank our community of donors for your generous support of Bruyère. We are fortunate to have a loyal group of donors, many of whom have supported Bruyère for decades. Simply put your donations help Bruyère fulfill its daily goal - to make life better for our patients and staff.
Bruyère is grateful for all donations which are used to fund to help fund vital improvements that benefit our patients and staff.
In particular, the Foundation has been asked to help fund:
- The acquisition of priority specialized medical equipment – such as ventilators, lifts, rehabilitation equipment and blanket warmers, to name a few.
- A new palliative care unit (PCU).
To fund the new PCU, the Foundation launched the Celebrating Life at Every Stage $6M fundraising campaign. Our renowned palliative care unit/team will move from Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital campus to Saint-Vincent Hospital campus, and transform how we provide palliative care support, so patients and their loved ones receive the greatest benefit possible.
Bruyère is best known for its expertise in palliative care. Completing this important project will create major efficiencies for both Bruyère and its local partners and will dramatically enhance the level of this specialized care in our community. With this move comes an important change - the ability to provide a palliative approach to care to ten times more patients, which is proven to greatly improve quality of life, reduce anxiety, and improve pain and symptom management at all stages of life.
Thanks to everyone who has already supported this campaign – nearly $4M has been donated to date.
