01/22/2019

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness month, an opportunity to learn more about dementia which is having a growing impact as our population ages. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia.

Listen to Rob Snow’s interview with Dr. Frank Knoefel, a physician in the Bruyère Memory Program at Bruyère Continuing Care and senior investigator at the Bruyère Research Institute. Dr. Knoefel talks about The Bruyère Memory Program and the potential of “smart” sensors to identify changes in how people move and think as they get older, to learn patterns and intervene, if needed.

The Bruyère Memory Program at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with memory problems. The Bruyère Memory Program is associated with various active research teams involved in clinical drug trials, new treatments and diagnostic tools.
