Bruyère is actively recruiting to create a centralized Personal Care Attendant (PCA) mobile team. All these new positions will fulfill the replacement needs in various units. If you are interested in providing critical support and the opportunity to check out different clinical settings, the Mobile Team is for YOU!
 
Mobile Team members will have the opportunity to work in different programs at both of our campuses (Saint-Vincent Hospital and Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital) and will be well supported by the nursing professional practice team and the clinical manager.

Function summary

Being part of the interdisciplinary team, the role of the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) is to provide aspects of care to patients and residents as assigned by the Registered Nurse (RN) or the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and according to the policies, procedures, and standards of the Bruyère. The PCA plays a supportive role in the provision of care and the functioning of the patient care unit.

Required qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent
  • Personal Support Worker course approved by the Ontario Ministry of Universities and Colleges (650 hrs course preferred)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
NoteSpecialized orientation and appropriate training will be provided to you to prepare you for this role, within the established timeline.
 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in hospital setting
  • Experience in Complex Continuing Care and Alternate Level of Care (ALC) and Geriatrics
  • Fluent in French and English
