Hospital Volunteer Opportunities

Unit Support Volunteer

As a Unit Support Volunteer, you will provide hands-on support to staff, patients/residents and their loved ones. You will be allocated to a unit at one of Bruyère’s specialized hospitals and become an important part of the care team on the unit collaboratively to deliver quality care and ensure a positive patient experience.

Visitor Experience Volunteer

Visitor Experience volunteers understand the stress and worry that some of our visitors and patients may be feeling as they navigate a new and complex health care campus that offers many services. They are the first face people see as they greet and welcome patients, residents, loved ones, and employees walking through our doors. With compassion they share important information from where to go to any additional information based on policy changes or happenings on the campus on a given day.

Spiritual Care Volunteer

Volunteers interested in roles related to the Pastoral Care and Chapel services can assist in many ways: portering and accompanying patients to various chapel services and activities, greeting patients as they arrive for chapel services, providing music for regular chapel services, Altar duty/ Sacristan (includes maintaining the sacristy, helping to set and clear the Altar before and after worship, monitoring chapel supplies and reporting issues) Eucharistic ministry and pastoral visiting.
