Dr. Daniel Myran Receives Canada Research Chair

03/13/2024

Dr. Daniel Myran, Investigator with the Bruyère Research Institute and Assistant Professor with the University of Ottawa’s Department of Family Medicine, was named as Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Social Accountability this week.

The Canada Research Chairs Program stands at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development. Chairholders aim to achieve research excellence and improve our depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthen Canada's international competitiveness, and help train the next generation of researchers.

Dr. Myran’s research focuses predominantly on health consequences of substance use, its negative impact on health disparities, and evidence-based solutions for mitigating these harms. He’ll also be looking at primary care shortages through collaborative research with patients, communities, health care providers, and government.
