A relationship-focused fundraising leader, Janice leads comprehensive philanthropic strategies, cultivates high-impact donor relationships, and advances initiatives that strengthen Bruyère Health’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Her career reflects a deep commitment to mission-driven work. Before joining the Bruyère Health Foundation in 2026, Janice provided strategic leadership for the individual philanthropy fundraising portfolio at CHEO Foundation, supporting pediatric health care and research.

Janice has also held senior advancement roles at McMaster University and worked with the Arthritis Society and Médecins Sans Frontières, where she contributed to major priorities, research-driven initiatives, and global humanitarian efforts. Across these roles, she developed extensive expertise in major gift fundraising, as well as estate and legacy giving.

In addition to her philanthropic leadership, Janice is trained as a death doula through Going with Grace, holds a National End-of-Life Doula Alliance proficiency badge, and has pursued studies in thanatology and palliative care. She has a long-standing interest in death education and grief literacy and, for more than a decade, has supported open, informed, and compassionate conversations that help individuals and families navigate end-of-life experiences with greater understanding, confidence, and care.
