Kim Curran

Acting, Executive Director, Bruyère Health Foundation

KIMKim joined the Bruyère Health Foundation over 12 years ago as Vice President of Major Gifts and Campaigns. She has an outstanding record of achievement in planning and executing large-scale, integrated development programs and capital campaigns. Kim grew up in Ottawa and has a well-developed network of senior-level contacts with corporations, local business and community leaders. She has extensive management experience in the areas of strategic planning, capital campaign fundraising, staff and budget oversight.

Prior to joining Bruyère Health Foundation she was the Director of Development and Partnerships at the Canadian Museum of Nature, overseeing the Museum’s “Natural Partnerships” campaign to support the $250M renewal and restoration of the country’s natural history and biodiversity museum. As a member of the Senior Management team Kim was part of a small team that were responsible for the overall operation of this international museum of first rank.

Before working at the Canadian Museum of Nature, Kim was the founding Executive Director of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation from 1989 – 2006 where she played a pivotal role in the development of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation from its inception to an organization raising over $5M annually for capital expansion, medical equipment, research and education.

With an educational background in journalism and public relations she has also held several other positions with smaller nonprofits and was formerly the Editor/Writer for the Nepean Clarion a weekly newspaper and a news reporter for the former CFGO radio.

However, her most important job is being a mother to two amazing young adults. When she is not networking and raising funds for Bruyère Health, you can find her enjoying the lakes and rivers in our beautiful region or cooking up a feast for family and friends.
