Function summaryUnder the responsibility of the Director of Care, the incumbent provides assessment, treatment, and evaluation of individual, interpersonal, and societal problems through the use of social service work knowledge, skills, interventions and strategies, to assist individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities to achieve optimum social functioning. Is committed to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère. Is committed to resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement. Required qualifications- Community college Diploma in Social Work
- Membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Minimum of 6 months of working experience- 1 year preferred
- Basic Computer skills
- Basic Medical Terminology
- Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)
Preferred qualifications- Experience working in long-term care
Key Competencies - Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated relevant experience with aging clientele
- Good knowledge of issues encountered by persons with some form of dementia or physical challenges
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with members of an interprofessional team
- Knowledge of community resources
- Effective oral and written communication skills
