Function Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition and Food services, this role is responsible for offering its clientele (Dining Room and Cluster), quality products and superior operations such as the establishment of menus, inventory management or preparation, cooking, food processing, etc.
 
Tasks include:
  • Develop all menu items for the Dining Room and Clusters, ensuring regular renewal based on seasonality or trends.
  • Coordinate kitchen activities with the dining room and cluster to ensure prompt and courteous service.
  • Complete the necessary orders by controlling the inventory and minimizing losses.
  • Lead the team by ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
  • Use the equipment at his/her disposal to cook the meals on time.

Required Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education or training program as Culinary Cook/Chef is preferred. A combination of the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience deemed equivalent in a relevant setting (healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality) is required.
  • Food handler certificate.
  • Smart Serve Certification.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a senior's residence, dining room area.
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligibleto apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants whomeet this requirement.)

 

Preferred qualifications 

  • Red Seal certification preferred.
