Best Practice Spotlight Organization

Saint-Louis Residence was selected to become a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO). We are the first long-term care home in the Champlain region and the first francophone home in the province to successfully win this opportunity.

This designation is a sign of our commitment to provide care that is always based on best available knowledge. The residence will also benefit from significant training funds from the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO).

The RNAO develops Best Practice Guidelines that help improve the quality of care. Health organizations around the world use these guidelines. The residence will have the chance to work with leading healthcare organizations, such as Bayshore Home Health and Montfort.

We also share our experiences with Bruyère Continuing Care's other long-term care home, Élisabeth Bruyère Residence.

We implemented four best practice guidelines at Saint-Louis Residence. We aim to have fewer falls, help residents have better oral health, remain or even become continent and have fewer pressure ulcers.

The guidelines and our new partnership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario will help advance our commitment to excellence in care. We are also working on enhancing how we provide care while being person and family-centred.
