Visiting
For the comfort of all our residents, we ask that families visit our residences between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week. Those who visit after-hours, between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., must inform staff.
At Bruyère Health Élisabeth-Bruyère Long-Term Care, you will need an access card to operate the elevator when leaving a unit. Please ask our staff to call the elevator. The front door locks at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 6:30 p.m. on weekends. After that time, please use the intercom so the Information desk staff can unlock the door for you.
At Bruyère Health Saint-Louis Long-Term Care, the front door locks at 8 p.m. Families can ring a bell and night staff will answer.
Things to remember when visiting:
- Help stop the spread of germs. Please use the alcohol-based hand rub provided when entering and leaving the building, as well as before and after visiting a resident’s room.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult visitor.
- If the person wishing to come visit you has an infectious disease (e.g., sore throat, coughing, congestion, sneezing, runny nose, gastroenteritis), the visitor should postpone the visit until the symptoms have subsided.
- If necessary, we may implement visiting restrictions at any time for the well-being and safety of those in our care.
- Abusive or inappropriate behaviour towards a resident, visitor, staff member or volunteer is not tolerated.
