Medical Equipment for Data Collection

The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) - Data Collection Center located within the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital provides investigators with state-of-the-art equipment and technology run by experienced data collection research assistants and technicians. Geared towards electronic data capture, investigators can access equipment such as; 


  • a bone densitometer,
  • spirometry
  • electrocardiogram, 
  • retinal scanners, 
  • tonometer, 
  • dynamometer, 
  • ultrasound imaging. 

Along with experienced technicians this specialized equipment enables investigators to easily gather data in bone density, lung function, cardiac function, eye health and physical functioning. Research assistants trained in interviewing and questionnaire administration are also available.
