REQUESTING A NON-MEDICAL PLACEMENT AT BRUYÈRE HEALTH
Student Placement Requests — Non-Medical Learners
Requesting a placement at Bruyère? Here’s what you need to know.
This page is for non-medical learners only.
If you are a physician, medical resident, or fellow, please contact Medical Affairs instead.
Processing Time
Please allow up to 4 weeks for us to process your placement request. This gives your school time to confirm that you meet all requirements.
Requirements — What
Your School Must Confirm
Before you start
your placement, your school must verify and attest that you have:
- Police Records Check — Level 2 (or
Level 3 Vulnerable Sector if working with vulnerable populations),
completed within 6 months.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Screening — For on-site
placements: recent two-step TB skin test (or one-step update if needed).
- Immunizations — MMR
(measles, mumps, rubella) and varicella (chickenpox): proof of two doses
or positive serology.
- Hepatitis B — Immunization
and proof of immunity strongly recommended for placements with risk of
exposure.
- Tetanus — Up to date
(within the last 10 years).
- Influenza Vaccine — Strongly
encouraged during flu season.
- COVID-19 Vaccination — May still be
required depending on current policy.
Important: Students do not submit these documents directly to Bruyère. Your school confirms and attests that all requirements have been met prior to the placement start date.
Academic Affiliation Agreement
Your school must have an active Academic Affiliation Agreement with Bruyère before your placement can be confirmed. You may complete the request form below without an affiliation agreement; however, more processing time may be required to establish this agreement.
